Planer shaft MBM Spiral

MBM helicoidal shafts with hard metal square knife are tools designed for planing hardwoods, with the characteristic of generating a short, well-crushed chip.

MBM has developed the machining of helical planer shafts with plates (knives) using the most modern technologies which guarantee excellent planing quality.

Thanks to the use of hard metal knives, the tool life is longer and from the environmental point of view there is a drastic reduction in noise with advantages for the operator’s health.

The Helicoidal shaft called MBM Spiral can be provided with more spirals, with constant or variable pitch; with variable pitch shaft based on cutting width, has its own spiral which allows it to roll continuously without overlapping the knives. Supply capacity ranges from Ø62mm at Ø200mm, the minimum length is 150mm and the maximum length is 1500mm. The number of spirals can be 2,3,4,6.

To have a good result, when you change the knives you must clean the knife holders, the accuracy of positioning is determined by the care with which cleaning is carried out. HM kinves have 4 sharp sides and their dimensions are 15x15x2.5 reduced tolerance to assure maximum positioning accuracy.
